Animal Abuse

The Violence Link

The link between cruelty to animals and violence toward people has been well established.  There is overwhelming research evidence that cruelty to animals is a symptom of deep psychological problems.  It’s a clear indicator that violence and abuse toward people is happening as well.  In children and adolescents, a pattern of recurrent cruelty to animals is a predictor of later aggression toward other people.

If you know or suspect an animal is being abused or neglected, please contact the P.E.I. Humane Society immediately:
(902) 892-1190 or 892-1191, or info@peihumanesociety.com

If you know or suspect a child is being abused or neglected, you must report it.  Call 368-6868 or 1-800 341-6868.  It’s the law in P.E.I.
