I’M READY TO SUBMIT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION.

WHAT NOW?

Choose the pet you want.  A good first step is to check out our “Adoption” page (click here). Then we encourage you to come to the Shelter to visit with the animal.  You may even see if the animal is compatible with pets already in your home by taking advantage of our “Get Acquainted Room” here at the Shelter.  Please Note: We can only place a “Hold” on a pet you are interested in adopting for a maximum of three business hours.

Complete an Adoption Application and submit it for approval (in person or by facsimile);

After you have chosen your pet and completed the application, we can usually review and approve your application on the spot. If the animal you have chosen is not spayed/neutered yet, a surgery date will be booked.  If the animal is already spayed/neutered, there is still an overnight holding period before you can take your pet home. This gives you time to think about your decision and get ready for your pet.

An appointment is booked for the completion of the adoption, which takes place during our regular business hours. When you arrive, you will pay the adoption fee plus a dog license fee (if applicable), be given your Information Kit and any additional documents. And you and your new pet can head home!
