In Memory of George

George became part of our family not by our choice but by his. When conditions changed in his first family, he decided to find a new family. After months of careful consideration and numerous visits, he chose us. All attempts by us to return him failed. George would return in the middle of the night telling us to get up and let him in. He finally informed us he was staying. He also informed us that, yes, he was a black lab but, no, he did not like to swim and had no intention of ever changing his mind. He then proceeded to become an indispensable member of our family by declaring himself full time co-pilot of Leonard’s truck and tractors, guard dog, bodyguard, travel companion to Leonard and a treasured friend to our entire family.

Thank you, George, for choosing us and for the wonderful 9 years you shared with us.  Knowing and loving you was an honour and privilege for which we shall always be grateful.
