Remembering A Pet's Unconditional Love
|
Mia came to live with us shortly before Christmas of 2008. We adopted her from the Humane Society as a senior so we knew our time with her
would be limited.
For the past year she has delighted us with her numerous antics and beautiful personality. Never acting her age, her winter was spent romping through the snowy fields and
trails of western PEI. Her summer was filled with boat rides, trips to the beach and special trips for ice cream on hot days.
Around Christmas time this year we noticed one of her beautiful blue eyes was slightly bulged. Mia was diagnosed with a malignant tumor behind that eye a short time
later. Our "young pup" began to age very quickly after the diagnosis and on January 6, 2009 when her pain was no longer manageable we made the gut-wrenching decision to
say good-bye.
Although she was with us for only a year she made quite the impact on us. We are so lucky to have found her.
She rests now in the fields she loved exploring so much and we keep her always in our happy memories.
Sincerely, The Smallman family and Laura
