Remembering A Pet's Unconditional Love

In Memory of Mindy

Thanks to Pat and Elmer, Mindy came to find love at the Smith house in 1995. Her first hectic year of life was replaced by 12 wonderful years of love and luxury beginning the day she came home to us. Mindy was a most loyal companion; the very best friend anyone could ever ask for. She listened without talking back, made you feel like you were the most important person in the world, and always was up for a cuddle or some quiet time in Elmer's favorite chair.

Elmer and Mindy had a special bond. They did everything together and Mindy kept him safe as his very trusty co-pilot. She lived for her summers at the campground and never questioned a drive in the truck or an evening walk.

On August 23, 2008 Mindy and Elmer had their last walk together on her favorite beach at Cabot Park. Mindy lived a healthy, spirited life but it came to an end as the result of a stroke. It was a tough decision to finally say goodbye and leave her to be in peace.

Though it is difficult to bid farewell to such a special member of the family, we are reminded of how blessed we were to have 12 years with one of God's most loveable, little, four-legged girls.

Mindy, you are missed. The house and camper are now quiet without the jingle of your collar or the click of your tiny, little feet on the floor. Thank you for all you brought to us. We are forever in debt to you for your unconditional love and your ability to make us smile.

We hope you are resting well and have found a big, heavenly arm chair to relax in.

Elmer, Paula, Colleen, Tricia, Pat and Suzie
