Remembering A Pet's Unconditional Love

My husband received our forever friend Patti at the Humane Society. She was quite a girl! Loved to run like the wind, chase birds off the farmers fields and off the beach, (which she thought she owned) Her favorite time was chasing foxes which she caught many times. Patti would run in circles around the fox which would be hunkering on the ground panting. It was as if Patti was saying to the fox "I ran faster then you, I caught you, I win" then she would walk away happy and most pleased with herself. I had adopted a puppy from the back seat of a car whom I called Kelli, Kelli was 4 months old when I married my husband. We took the 2 dogs out to the park to meet. Well Patti was going to prove to
Kelli she was alpha dog, she ran in large circles running over Kelli (who couldn't keep up with her) every time. After a few circles we stopped her. From that day forward the two of them were inseparable. Where Patti went Kelli followed.

Three years passed, then one night Patti slipped out when I was coming in the house and ran off. We called and called for her. Finally I called the Humane Society the lady on the phone had said she had a caller on the other line who just seen a dog get hit by a car in front of her. She stopped but the driver who hit our beloved Patti didn't. She told us where on the trans Canada she was and that she checked and the dog was dead. We went there and our beloved Patti was lying there, we picked her up and put her in the car wrapped her in a blanket but she was gone to heaven.

We miss you so much Patti and we will always love you, till we meet again on the rainbow bridge. God Bless you Lady for stopping and checking on our Patti we will be forever grateful to you. Thank you Lady at the Humane Society for helping us find our Patti.

Kelli wasn't doing very well (none of us were) after the death of Patti, I checked out the Humane Society web page and seen a cute little dog on it. So on St. Patty's Day we went and decided to adopt Maggie (I think she a was gift from Patti so we wouldn't miss her so much) then 2 years later we adopted Fancy.
We now have 3 dogs but we still miss and love Patti.

Hugs and Kisses Patti, from Kelli mommy & daddy,
