Remembering A Pet's Unconditional Love
Shumatsu 1996 - 2009

|
We got Shumatsu in June 1996. She was 6 months old. Our very first cat as a married couple (one year married) and my husbands first cat. It
was truly wonderful to have Shumatsu in our lives. She was a great cat, always bringing us mice when the weather was nice and yet never leaving the yard. She would just
go to the border of our yard and sit there as if their was a fence there. It was very strange but we didn't have to worry about the road. She had an exciting life. She
had some run ins with some strays and a fox once which we thought we lost her, but she came strolling out from our back trees the next day. She also had some weight
issues and urinary track issues which we controlled with diet. Just this past February she developed diabetes. We had to give her insulin twice a day but within two weeks
her body stopped responding to the insulin and she was going into a coma. She was hospitalized one morning to help bring her sugars down. Her sugars continued to sore
through out the day. I went in later on that day to check on her and the Vet told me we will know by morning if her sugars will come down. I spent 10 minutes with
Shumatsu and told her I would see her in the morning and what a great kitty she was. I left for home and when I got there Their was a message on the phone to call the
vet. I did and they told me she passed a few minutes after I left. I wish I was there when she passed but I am glad I got to see her and her hear me before she died. My
Husband and two kids and I miss her very much.
