Farm Animals 

1. The P.E.I. Humane Society believes that farm animals deserve to be protected from suffering at all stages of their lives. The PEI Humane Society believes that farm animals deserve to be provided with care that meets their behavioural needs and ensures their physical and psychological well-being.

2. The P.E.I. Humane Society supports the standards of care contained in the
Recommended Codes of Practice, published by the Canadian Agri-Food Research Council, and developed in consultation with various groups including the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies.

3. The P.E.I. Humane Society supports the provisions of the Animal Protection Regulations, developed pursuant to the Animal Health and Protection Act, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, A-11.1, which incorporates these codes of practice.
