Shows and Eventing
1. The P.E.I. Humane Society recognizes that most owners and riders participating in horse shows and events have the utmost respect and concern for the welfare of their horses.
2. The P.E.I. Humane Society is opposed to the following:
a) the use of training methods that cause distress or suffering;
b) the use of drugs to alter a horse’s performance, or to enable it to compete;
c) in a competition, the inclusion of obstacles that are of unreasonable difficulty;
d) the use of any equipment, such as whips or spurs, in such a manner as to cause distress or suffering.
