Kitten Season is in full swing at the PEIHS!
Each spring, as “Kitten Season” arrives, our shelter fills with vulnerable mothers and their unborn litters, each one depending on us to act quickly when complications arise. While our team is deeply committed and highly skilled, there are moments when the right equipment can mean everything.
This kitten season, we are fundraising to purchase a portable ultrasound machine, including the iQ3 Probe: an investment that would transform how we care for pregnant cats and other animals in our shelter.
A portable ultrasound machine would not only support pregnant animals during kitten season by allowing us to monitor fetal viability and detect complications early, but it would also serve as a vital diagnostic tool year-round. From identifying internal injuries and detecting fluid buildup to guiding treatment plans in emergencies, this technology would be monumental for the animals we care for each day.
