The PEI Humane Society believes that a key component to advancing animal welfare across PEI is the education of its communities in animal care, welfare, and available community supports. Therefore, as the Island’s only animal shelter, we decided to combine our available resources to create the PEIHS Education Program.

This combination of tools, resources, and outreach sources is meant to help Islanders learn and enrich their own lives and that of their pets.

Animal Welfare in Schools

Bringing animal welfare into the classroom

Our team of skilled communicators and animal welfare professionals would love to come chat with your class about any number of subjects impacting animal welfare on PEI. Because there are so many topics to address, we often ask educators to help us narrow down the subject matter.

Pet-Inclusive Housing

Your Pet = Your Family

The PEI Humane Society believes that your pet is your family and should be treated as such. Therefore, we encourage pet owners to know their rights when it comes to pet ownership and provide tools to help pet owners find pet-inclusive housing. Advocating for your pet throughout the home-hunting process can be difficult.
