Mother Dog & 10 Puppies Seized
March 4, 2026
On February 25th, 2026, the PEI Humane Society’s Animal Protection Officers seized one mother dog and 10 puppies under the Prince Edward Island Animal Welfare Act. The dogs are being cared for and receiving veterinary care, as necessary. The investigation is ongoing and active, so we are unable to answer questions related to the case or the animals.
The PEI Humane Society acknowledges that there have been several announcements related to seizures lately. We wish to remind the community that many investigations come as a direct result of individuals from within the community making reports and trusting us to do our job. We thank all Islanders for making this work possible.
This has been a busy time at our shelter. Our operations are being impacted at many levels and we ask for your patience and understanding at this time.
