Pets in the Heat
What to do when you see a dog in a hot car!
Each summer, the PEI Humane Society received hundreds of calls about dogs in hot cars. A dog that is left in a hot car on a hot day can suffer from heatstroke in a matter of minutes. Animal Protection Officers can respond to these calls Island-wide, but often, there is a lot than can be done to help the dog before Animal Protection can arrive on scene.
