The PEI Humane Society, in partnership with Humane Canada, is asking Islanders to sign a petition to advocate for pets to be included in emergency planning and funding programs.
Islanders know that pets are family. And we also know that when disaster strikes, supporting pet the care of lost and unhoused pets is an important part of community rebuilding.
Our animals are family—yet they’re still left out of most emergency plans.
This means families delay evacuating.
Pets suffer.
First responders face added risks.
