We are very excited to welcome you into our volunteer family. On this page, you will find training resources and general information about the volunteer program at the PEI Humane Society.
We highly recommend that you join our PEIHS Volunteer Facebook group. On this page, we will send our requests around certain projects we’re working on, we will notify you of any closures or storm-delays we are experiencing and we will celebrate our incredible community and those who make our work possible!

Please Note:
- You do not need to book yourself for a shift volunteering at the PEI Humane Society. Volunteers are welcome to be on-site during the following operating hours:
- Mon-Fri: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Sat-Sun: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- You MUST sign in and sign out for each shift. This means you need to stop by the front desk and sign the sheet provided in the binder there when you arrive and before you leave.

Feline Enrichment
Many of our cats at the shelter benefit from enrichment. This can be as simple as speaking to the cat through their kennel door, providing new and exciting toys for them, or taking the time to provide physical contact like petting. It’s important to understand what kinds of enrichment are appropriate for each cat, as well as how you can provide enrichment that suits their needs and keeps both you and the cat safe.
