PEI Humane Society Opens to the Public, Dog Park Reopens & New Rapid-Testing for Volunteers
February 23, 2022
As of 10:30am on February 23, 2022, the PEI Humane Society has reopened its doors to the public.
This means (during operating hours, Mon-Sat) those who are interested in visiting with cats or tiny paws (rabbits, guinea pigs, etc), making a donation or inquiring about programs and services can drop in to the shelter once more without making an appointment or submitting an application.
For those who work and volunteer at the shelter, new rapid-testing requirements have been put in place to ensure safety around covid-19 is maintained. Masking and social distancing are still enforced for all who come into the building and testing only applies to volunteers and staff. These measures will stay in place until there is a change to the current measures issued by public health.
The society is also pleased to announce that their publicly accessible dog park has once again reopened. Thanks to a generous, hardworking volunteer, the snow banks have been cleared and the shelter feels confident that there is no-longer a risk of animals escaping the park.
Our staff and volunteers look forward to seeing you soon!
